Sinéad Wylde, Head of RTÉ lyric fm, said:
"This is a great result for RTÉ lyric fm growing listeners across our schedule to our highest ever share. The success of Marty in the Morning continues with 4,000(BoB)/ 8,000(YoY) new listeners choosing a lighter start to their day in the Marty Whelan way.
Classic Drive with Lorcan Murray is also up 5,000(BoB)/ 7,000(YoY) new listeners as Lorcan sets the tone for listeners to relax into the evening. Weekends too on RTÉ lyric are strong as Claudia Boyle and Simon Delaney continue to attract new listeners along with increases in our evening schedule for Opera Night with Paul Herriott, Vespertine with Ellen Cranitch and The Lyric Feature. It is also great to see that while lyric retains its loyal over 55 year audience, the station is seeing increases amongst 35 - 54 year olds reinforcing our mantra that good music is for everyone."
