For the unmissable season finale of the National Symphony Orchestra it's Giuseppe Verdi's towering, titanic Requiem, presented from the National Concert Hall by Paul Herriott.
Chief Conductor Jaime Martín conducts the National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and a quartet of star soloists – Miah Persson (soprano), Jennifer Johnston (mezzo-soprano), Valentyn Dytiuk (tenor), Evgeny Stavinsky (bass) – in music cast on the grandest of scales. Shot through with operatic intensity, it thrills in its contrasts between the hushed prayers of repentant sinners, ecstatic dancing angels, and a terror-inducing depiction of the Day of Judgement.
