Vlad Smishkewych presents Vox Nostra, Ireland's only radio programme dedicated to early music, on RTÉ lyric fm every Sunday morning from 7-10am.
A classically-trained professional singer and performer of early music and Galician traditional music, Vlad came to RTÉ lyric fm from the University of Limerick where we was formerly the director of the MA programme in Chant at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance. In 2015, he presented a weekly programme The Astrolabe, tracing science, history, and culture through music—until beginning Vox Nostra in 2016.
In addition to his work at RTÉ lyric fm, Vlad is also one of the founder-directors of the Limerick Early Music Festival and of the Irish Early Music Network. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, woodworking, and filmmaking.
