Lorcan Murray presents Classic Drive every weekday on RTÉ lyric fm, one of the station's flagship programmes with a daily audience of just 60,000 dedicated listeners. Lorcan regularly broadcasts from RTÉ studios around the country, highlighting the wealth and diversity of musical talent in Ireland.

Having left behind a career in electronic engineering, Lorcan opted for national radio and began broadcasting with RTÉ 2FM in March 1988. He was also host of RTÉ Gold’s Living in the 70’s Saturday and Sunday mornings. Over the last number of years, he has become a household name through his approachable presentation style and discerning music choice. As well as having anchored a range of programmes on 2FM and Radio 1, in 1999 Lorcan returned to his native Limerick to take up a position with RTÉ lyric fm to host its daily Lunchtime Show.

As well as presenting, Lorcan is an avid music collector and has one of the largest popular music collections in Ireland. A very keen sporting fan with Munster rugby and Limerick Hurling, taking up a lot of spare time as he is a regular match goer! Lorcan sits on the Board of University Concert Hall and is a former member of the steering committee for Music Generation Limerick.
