Aedín Gormley is the presenter on Movies and Musicals (Saturday 1-4pm) and Aedín in the Afternoon (Friday 1-4pm).
Aedín is a native of Dublin and has been working in radio since graduating from University College Dublin in 1993. She first worked in Irish language broadcasting and her next move was to RTÉ Radio 1, first as a member of the Presentation Department, then as presenter of The Weekend on One.

Aedín joined RTÉ lyric fm when the station was founded in May 1999. The hugely popular Movies and Musicals has been there since day one, and continues to be a winner with listeners, sitting comfortably on Saturday afternoons. It features a broad range of soundtracks from early classics, right through to contemporary scores. Aedín has interviewed many famous names including Julie Andrews, Angela Lansbury, Mark Hamill, Colin Farrell, Colin Firth, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Blunt, Paul Mescal, Renée Zellweger and Elaine Stritch. She also loves talking to composers, and over the years has chatted with John Barry, Lalo Schifrin, Hans Zimmer, Alan Menken, Michael Giacchino, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

During her time on RTÉ lyric fm, Aedín has also presented the award-winning arts programme Artszone, My Tunes and Sunday Matinée. She now also presents Aedín in the Afternoon on Fridays featuring an eclectic range of music and entertainment news to get us ready for the weekend. Aedín has won both IMRO radio awards in Ireland and New York Radio awards for 'Best music radio host' and 'Best music special' for her Stephen Sondheim tribute.

Her work with lyric has allowed Aedín to indulge her passion for all areas of music and the arts. She loves collaborating with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, presenting concerts of film music and celebrating the world of musicals. When not at the cinema or listening to music, Aedín loves walking in the great outdoors, nature, yoga and travel.
