Aedín talks to director Richard Linklater and actor Ethan Hawke about their film Blue Moon which was filmed in Ireland. The drama is set on the opening night of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein's 'Oklahoma!' in 1943, the musical that cemented their songwriting partnership and marked the end of the partnership of Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. Plus, a first listen to the brand-new soundtrack from Wicked: For Good in cinemas this weekend starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

OPERA NIGHT WITH PAUL HERRIOTT

Handel's Semele from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden

Premiered in 1774, Semele is darkly satirical. This new Royal Opera House production from Oliver Mears considers class, privilege and degradation. Handel specialist Christian Curnyn conducts the Royal Opera House Orchestra and Chorus as Pretty Yende marks her return to Covent Garden in the title role, with Ben Bliss making his House debut as Jupiter and Irish mezzo-soprano Niamh O'Sullivan singing the role of Ino, Semele's sister in this production which was recorded in July 2025.

RTÉ LYRIC LIVE WITH PAUL HERRIOTT

National Symphony Chorus Ireland celebrates its 40th anniversary in the company of National Symphony Orchestra Ireland in a concert presented by Paul Herriott. Long-standing National Symphony Chorus Ireland friend, Gerhard Markson, returns to conduct Wagner's great choral hymn from Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Bruckner's monumental Te Deum, performed in the choir's first concert in 1985, and the world premiere of Rhona Clarke's Points of Light inspired by nature and the light of sun, moon and stars.
