Conductor Joana Mallwitz makes her Met debut leading an extraordinary cast in Mozart's comic masterpiece. Bass-baritone Michael Sumuel stars as the clever valet Figaro, opposite soprano Olga Kulchynska as his betrothed, the wily maid Susanna. Baritone Joshua Hopkins is the skirt-chasing Count, soprano Federica Lombardi as his anguished wife, and mezzo-sopranos Sun-Ly Pierce in the role of the adolescent page Cherubino.

THE FULL SCORE WITH LIZ NOLAN
Our Full Score Concert comes from Music for Galway's midwinter celebration of Ravel last January.
This concert of works from 1910 to 1920 celebrates Ravel's French and Basque heritage. Following three movements from the Memorial to Couperin for solo piano, we hear the Sonata for violin and cello, dedicated to Claude Debussy, with whom Ravel had an ambiguous relationship. The second half of the concert features one of the composer's great masterpieces, the Piano Trio. Liz Nolan presents a showcase of unabridged musical masterworks, featuring live recordings of Irish and international performers, plus selections from the latest CD releases.

The third youngest of the prodigiously musical Kanneh-Mason family, 22-year-old Jeneba has released a new solo album Fantasie. Aedín takes a first listen today and includes Jeneba's choices of works by Claude Debussy, Frédéric Chopin and Florence Price. Anne-Sophie Mutter plays Bach and Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter treats us to a Jacques Brel number. Blossom Dearie also features, and speaking of blossoms, some very fine tunes about cherry blossoms and cherry trees.
