Notes
This Choir was launched in February 2015 as Strabane Chamber Choir, but due to a steady increase in membership it has been renamed Strabane Chorale. The membership has a catchment of Tyrone, Derry and Donegal. Many members are musicians in their own right, with backgrounds in brass, strings and voice.
Since its formation the Choir has competed annually in National Choral Festivals throughout Ireland and in the years pre-Covid, they were winners of the Mixed Voice Competitions at Derry, Sligo and Navan Choral Festivals. Just recently in May 2025 as Strabane Chorale, they were delighted to be winners for the fourth time in succession of the Mixed Voice in Navan .
In addition to competing, the Choir performs its own concertsand requiems in venues such as the Alley Theatre andMelmount Church Strabane. On stage they are accompanied by musicians, largely drawn from within the Choir’s own ranks.
Their repertoire includes classical, traditional, jazz, sacred and popular pieces.
The Choir, under the direction of Gerard Bradley, is delighted to be busily preparing for their annual Christmas concert. This year its on the 14th December in St Mary’s church melmount, Strabane .
