Founded in September 2024 by Dr. Michael T. Dawson and Dr. Jo-Michael Scheibe, LORICA was established to explore and promote Irish language, culture and heritage using the choral arts. As the resident ensemble of the Irish Institute of Music and Song, home to the award-winning Lark Concert Hall LORICA has quickly risen to prominence becoming only the second Irish choir to win the prestigious Derry International Choral Competition. Over the past year, LORICA has recorded its debut album, featuring newly commissioned choral arrangements of traditional Irish songs by acclaimed arranger Eoin Conway.
