Episode Notes
Goodbye To The Glebe - a farewell to John Boorman.
A tribute to filmmaker and honorary Irish citizen, John Boorman, recorded shortly before his return to England in November 2022, after 53 years in his beloved home, The Glebe in County Wicklow. Stephen Rea and Kevin Reynolds drove to Annamoe to say goodbye. With an original score composed and performed by Colm Mac Con Iomaire.

We hear the voices of Stephen Rea, Daisy Boorman, Gerry Traynor, Margaret Byrne, Neil Jordan, Myles Dungan, Honor Heffernan and John Boorman.
The music was composed and performed by Colm Mac Con Iomaire. The sound recordist and engineer was Ruth Kennington.
The rendition of 'Danny Boy', from the film ‘Angel’, was performed by Honor Heffernan with Keith Donald on saxophone. The Dave Clarke Five sang ‘Catch Us If You Can’.
Drama On One would like to say a special thanks to Stephen Rea for both his kindness and generosity. Not only did he speak so eloquently to John and about John, but the first he knew about this programme was on the day it was recorded, when Kevin Reynolds arrived at his door with a digital recorder and a rough idea.

And you might also like to know that Stephen Rea will star in Landmark’s 20th Anniversary production of Krapps Last Tape by Samuel Beckett at Dublin’s Project Arts Centre from January 11th to February 3rd. Details at Landmark productions dot ie (landmarkproductions.ie)
