Episode Notes
I Am Not Your "Knacker" by Rosaleen McDonagh
In this poetic monologue, Rosaleen McDonagh explores themes of racism, identity, disability and marginalisation, channelling the literary activism of James Baldwin, and her own.
The piece originally appeared in Rosaleen's book, Unsettled, published by Skein Press in 2021:
Rosaleen has been praised as an author writing fearlessly about a diverse experience of being Irish, as an Irish Traveller writing from a feminist perspective, celebrating bonds of family and community, while confronting prejudice in our society.
