Delia Murphy was an Irish singer and collector of ballads. Nicknamed the ‘Queen of Connemara’, Delia was famous for her very distinct and notable voice.
In 1941, Delia’s husband was appointed Irish Minister Plenipotentiary to the Holy See in the Vatican. Between the 1930’ and 1960’s, the couple lived in many different countries because Kiernan was posted to various embassies around the world including Canberra, London, Washington and more. During this time Delia continued to work on her music.
This documentary is the biography of Delia who died in 1971. It covers everything from her marriage to Dr T.J Kiernan to her recording career and how kind she was to everyone.
