Story Notes
The town of Blessington is situated in West Co Wicklow, near the border of Kildare and around eighteen miles south-west of Dublin. Founded in the reign of Charles II by Archbishop Doyle, Blessington is a beautiful little town that lies on the River Liffey and is surrounded by stunning scenery and lakes.
Norris Davidson lives about twelve miles south of Blessington and passes through the town most days of the week. He describes it as a busy town that both important and trivial things happen in.
1960 was to see many new things in Blessington and Norris decided to document it. He spent twelve months meeting the different people that work hard to make this town what it is.
