Story Notes
The streets that make up the Liberties in Dublin's inner city, are some of the capital's most steeped in history. From the folklore tales to those of real life, this is a place with more than just a few interesting stories.
Immortalised by the song "Ragman's Ball", this documentary takes us on a journey through the Liberties and introduces us to some of its most revered residents.
We hear of the shops of Ash Street, and of how the poorest of the Liberties residents often lived rough here.
We also hear of the fascinating story of one of the Liberties residents who was on board the ill fated Titanic's maiden voyage in 1912.
