Story Notes
Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca was a Spanish Explorer of the New World, and one of only four survivors of the 1527 Narváez expedition. His life is an incredible tale of many adventures, and indeed misadventures.
This documentary tells of the extrordinary life led by De Vaca in the years after the failed expedition and the people of the New World that he met. We also hear of his struggle to adjust to European culture before his death circa 1557/1558.
