Story Notes
Kilmore is a small village in the South of Country Wexford with a very unique Christmas tradition. Taking place for over 200 years, every Christmas Kilmore's unique Christmas Carols are sung from midnight on Christmas day, through to the Sunday nearest the 12th day.
Singers consist of local residents, and the group of singers has always included a member of the Deveroux family. It was the Parish priest Very Rev. Peter Devereux who first started this tradition in around 1751.
This documentary tells of this unique community tradition and those who take it upon themselves to make sure this tradition is maintained for future generations to come.
