The new reserach in Ireland found that the physical conditions that many older people were living in were poor – with fuel and water problematic for many.

But the more chilling findings were those on the loneliness and isolation that so many older people were feeling.

According to a recent study(2011) undertaken by St. Vincent de Paul in Ireland, loneliness is the biggest problem faced by older people in our country.

This documentary takes a look at loneliness in the elderly at a time when people had only begun to pay attention to it.
