Story Notes
Known as Queenstown from 1850 to 1920, Cobh is home to one of Ireland, and indeed the world’s most famous harbours. This is of course for very good reason – The Titanic.
As the last docking-place of the ill fated liner in 1912, Cobh Harbour has now become synonymous with the story of the Titanic.
However this small town has a history which extends back much further than the world’s most famous ship. From its beginnings back in 1780, to its widespread use during the famine, this documentary explores this harbour’s fascinating history as far up as the 2nd world war.
Produced and Presented by Norris Davidson
