This documentary from 1976 is dramatised history by a local drama group, highlighting the part of Sir Henry Parnell who was the MP for Carlow.
Before the bridge was finished in 1826, the island of Anglesey could only be reached by ferry. Even though the bridge was opposed locally it would have a big impact on Ireland as Holyhead on Anglesey was the closest port to Dublin.
