When American-born Shirley Goldfarb died in Paris in 1980, most of her work was simply stored in her studio. She left New York in 1950 along with her artist husband Gregory Mazurovsky, moving to the artists dream city of paris.
There they set up two studios in Montparnasse, where they lived and worked until her death.
In this documentary, Kate Mortley examines the life and work of the artist.
Shirley Goldfarb's life in Paris was composed of painting, walking and sitting in fashionable cafes where she wrote hundreds of pages of notes.
A major exhibition of her important work from 1965 to 1980 is ran at the National Museum of Women in the arts in Washington D.C.
