Janna Graham is an independent radio producer, media artist and folklorist based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. Her radio career began in college in the late 90s, spinning discs in late night slots in a musty attic studio. Those days continue to inspire a circumnavigation around the elusive and ethereal world of radio storytelling. Janna is also interested in the role participatory media plays in community development. In 2008, she worked with students at Radio Salus in Butare, Rwanda. The research led to a thesis about the essential role of community radio in post-genocide Rwanda. Her stories air on CBC Radio in Canada, local community radio stations and on pop-up neighborhood broadcasts.
