Sheena Madden has wanted to tell stories since she won a school essay competition in 1991, when she was nine. Bolstered by the confidence that this momentous win gave her, she figured it might be worth studying for a BA in Journalism, which she did.
She forged a career out of writing about things she loves for magazines such as Irish Theatre Magazine, The Globe & Mail, The Dubliner, Totally Dublin, Le Cool and lots of now-defunct music magazines and websites. Sometimes she even got paid for it.
In 2010, Sheena got a ‘real job’ with RTÉ Radio, where she discovered that radio is a great medium for telling stories. Documentary on One: The Loophole is her first radio documentary.
Sheena is also a press officer for RTÉ Radio.
She lives in Drumcondra in Dublin with her partner, Robert, and two sons, Cameron and Leo. In her spare time she enjoys listening to very loud music and working on The Great Novel.
