Alanna MacNamee is a producer from Limerick City. Alanna's short doc 'Movers and Shapers’ screened at the Galway Film Fleadh and Newport Beach Film Festival, and won Best Director at Vesuvius Film Festival 2023 and Judges Special Mention at the Richard Harris Film Festival 2023. She also produced the first Irish language short film under the Film in Limerick Engine shorts scheme last year.
Alanna has been working in broadcast TV since 2021. Recent credits include Manchán’s Europe by Train (RTÉ), The Great Inspo Home Adventure with James Kavanagh (Virgin) and Comhluadar Ceoil (TG4). In 2024, she directed the mini-series ‘Teach nó Amach?’ for BLOC TG4 with Desmond Bros Media. Passionate about issues of social and environmental justice, Alanna started her career in media as a journalist, with bylines in the Irish Times, the Business Post, Hot Press and VICE.
