
Sharon Davis
Documentary MakerSharon Davis is an internationally recognised Australian producer and investigative journalist who works across audio, television and print. Her work has been broadcast on the ABC, the BBC, NPR and the SABC.
She has written, produced and presented many award winning documentaries including "The Search for Edna Lavilla" and "When Time Stood Still" which have previously been featured on RTE's Doc on One.
She has won Australia’s highest journalism award, the Walkley award, four times and numerous other national and international awards, including the Third Coast International Radio Festival Award Directors Choice Award (2011), Gold and Silver medals at the New York Festival (2011, 2009, 2004), and has twice been a finalist in the Prix Italia (2006, 1999).
Sharon currently works as a freelance producer based in Sydney. She is an occasional presenter of "Fourth Estate", a weekly podcast focusing on journalists and journalism, and also teaches podcasting and documentary production at The University of Technology. She is also intensively involved in the community broadcasting sector, working with the Community Media Training Organisation as a trainer and mentor.
