
Sinead Kennedy
Documentary MakerSinead Kennedy is a TV Presenter and Reporter who most notably presents the prime time RTÉ One entertainment series Winning Streak with Marty Whelan. The show is Europe's second longest running television game show. Throughout her illustrious career, spanning over eighteen years thus far in RTÉ, Sinead has hosted some of the country’s most popular shows. Most recently, Sinead Produced 'Laura Brennan: This is Me' which documented the final chapters of Laura Brennan's life and her campaign work for the HPV vaccine. The documentary recently won Gold at the New York Festivals Film & TV Awards. Sinead began her career after she was selected by RTÉ in a nationwide talent search to become a presenter on Sattitude - RTE’s hit Saturday Morning show. From there, she spent over a decade working with children and animals on live young people’s programmes before transitioning into entertainment.
Sinead is passionate about creating documentaries and relishes in the opportunity to do so. The Crossing saw her live on board Irish Naval vessel the L.É. Samuel Beckett for three weeks of their deployment to the Central Mediterranean where they were assisting in the ongoing refugee crisis. The situation has been dubbed the biggest humanitarian crisis of our time and Sinead is honoured to have been able to bring that story to an Irish audience. The Crossing earned a Special Commendation at the prestigious Prix Europa Awards in October 2017, something Sinead and the team are incredibly proud of.
Studying part-time is something Sinead has done for over a decade. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and studied for a Higher Diploma in Criminal Psychology in University College Cork. She recently completed a Masters in Mental Health Science. Sinead is fascinated by human behaviour and why we do what we do.
