David Coughlan is a native of Dublin and sports editor at the Irish Daily Star.

He won Sportswriter of the Year (Popular) in 2018 and 2022 and has been nominated for national journalism awards on six other occasions.

David studied at DCU St Patrick's Campus, Drumcondra and has worked as a journalist since 2000.

Hello Spaceboy? is his fifth RTÉ documentary after Cigarettes and Samba, Green and Gold, Crossing the Line and Louder Than Bombs.
