Documentary MakerAoife Kelleher is an award-winning film and television director. Her debut documentary feature film, 'One Million Dubliners' was described as "entertaining, thought-provoking and poignant" (RTÉ Guide); "beautifully filmed" (The Irish Times) and "all you need in a film" (Film Ireland).
It received numerous awards, including Best Irish Feature Documentary at the Galway Film Fleadh, Best Irish Feature Documentary at the Sky Road Film & TV Festival, Best Irish Film of 2014 by The Irish Times, the Gold Medal for Best Television at the Sandford St. Martin Awards, a Silver Medal for Documentary at the New York Festivals World’s Awards, Best Factual at the Celtic Media Awards and an IFTA award.
In 2018, Aoife was IFTA-nominated for Best Director for the RTÉ documentary, We Need To Talk About Dad, which was also nominated for Best Documentary.
Her critically acclaimed RTÉ documentary series, 'Growing Up Gay', was described as "superbly made" (The Irish Times) and "groundbreaking" (Irish Independent) and was awarded Best Television Series at the 2010 Entertainment.ie awards. Her short documentary film, 'Home', was awarded Best Documentary at the Fastnet Short Film Festival.
She was educated at DIT and Oxford University.
Aoife's commercial 'Stand Up', made with co-director Anna Rodgers for BeLonG To Youth Services, is the most viewed online video for a non-profit in Ireland, and was highly commended by the United Nations.
