David Atkinson
Documentary MakerDavid Atkinson is a video producer from Wexford and is currently a studio producer with the Irish Daily Mail.
He was V-Reporter on RTÉ’s "The Voice of Ireland" for three series as well as web reporter and occasional red carpet interviewer for "The 6 O’clock Show" on TV3. He has also been a frequent voice on 2FM’s "Nicky Byrne with Jenny Greene" show during his stint with the Voice.
Behind the camera, David has been a Shooting Producer on RTÉ’s "Daniel and Majella’s B&B Roadtrip" for three seasons; Location Director on RTÉ’s, "The Ploughing Live" as well as producing a one-off segment for RTÉ’s "Republic of Telly". A graduate of DCU, David has a BA in Communications Studies. While in college he served as Deputy Station Manager of DCUtv and is a recipient of 5 Hybrid Media awards in video and on-screen work.
A fan of topical content, David co-produced several viral videos in his time in College, which garnered nearly 1 million hits.
A member of DCU’s Ustart Programme and serial start-up founder, David co-founded a commercial video production company in his 2nd year of college. The following year he co-founded Cherry Comedy which has gone from strength-to-strength since. Currently it has a residency in Whelan's of Wexford street, Dublin.
More recently, David started an online satirical series, "Newscheck" which lead to him featuring as a reporter in the Waterford Whispers Live show, in Vicar street, in Dublin in 2018.
