The recent spell of dry weather is set to end with a Status Yellow rain and thunderstorm warning issued for Munster and Connacht.
Met Éireann has said there will be heavy showers or longer spells of rain with thundery downpours in some places, which could lead to spot flooding.
The warning will come into effect at midday tomorrow until midday on Saturday.
The forecaster said unsettled and cooler weather can be expected over the next few days, with rain and heavy showers at times.
Temperatures are set to drop, with highest temperatures of 19 degrees Celsius forecast tomorrow and just 16/17C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, a Small Craft warning will be in operation from midday tomorrow for Strangford Lough to Hook Head to Slyne Head, with cyclonic variable winds reaching force 6 or 7 in coastal areas.
