A man in his 20s has been injured after a firearm was discharged at a home in Co Kildare.

The incident occurred in the area of the Walled Gardens, Celbridge, at 12.10am this morning.

The man in his 20s was brought to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of the Walled Gardens, Celbridge between 11.45pm and 12.30am last night and who may have any information or seen a motorcycle are asked to contact investigating gardaí.

Anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available.
