A man in his 30s has been seriously injured after he was struck by a car in Co Mayo.
The incident on the Moneen Road in Castlebar happened at 3.30am.
The man was brought to Mayo University Hospital and is in serious condition.
Gardaí say no one else was injured in the incident and the road is closed for a technical examination.
They are asking any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam and who were travelling in the area at the time of the incident to contact gardaí.
