Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with a serious assault in Limerick city, which left a hip-hop artist blind in one eye.
Break dancer Tobi Omoteso was attacked in his car by a man carrying a bat on the Old Cratloe Road on the morning of Saturday, March 28.
Gardaí investigating the violent incident arrested a man in his 20s today.
He is being detained for questioning at a garda station in Co Limerick under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
In a social media post in the days after the assault, Mr Omoteso said a man armed with a bat struck his car window which "exploded shards of glass, like tiny knives, and buried themselves deep into both of my eyes".
The street dancer said he faces "a long, agonising road of surgeries just to cling to a fraction of the vision he once took for granted".
A GoFundMe page set up in the aftermath of the assault, has raised over €70,000 for Mr Omoteso's medical expenses.
