A woman in her 60s has died following a house fire in Togher, Co Cork, today.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the fire shortly before 6:15am.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported at the time.
The fire service extinguished the blaze and made the area safe.
A garda technical examination of the scene took place today.
The body of the woman was taken to the local mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí say the results of the post mortem are not being released for operational reasons.
