An investigation is under way after a woman in her 50s was found dead in Co Cavan.
She was found unresponsive at a residential property on Connolly Street in Cavan town shortly after 2am this morning.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí say the coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
They say the results of the post-mortem will determine the nature of their investigation.
