Gardaí have arrested a teenage boy after a young man in his teens was assaulted in Cork city in the early hours of this morning.
The teenager who suffered a serious assault was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of his injuries after emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 1am.
The teenage boy was arrested and detained at a garda station in the city under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
