A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being found unconscious in Belfast city centre.
He was found around 4.40pm yesterday near Castle Place and Royal Avenue.
Ambulance crews who arrived to give him assistance called the police.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The police are working to establish whether there is a link to a reported assault in the area a short time earlier.
Detectives are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area of Castle Place and Royal Avenue yesterday afternoon.
