Man, 40s, charged after two injured in road collision in Co Offaly

A man in his 40s has been charged in connection with a road collision in which two teenage pedestrians were injured, one seriously, in Co Offaly last month.

The incident occurred on 4 February shortly after 6.15pm on Tullamore Road in Clara.

A teenage girl was treated at the scene before being brought to CHI Crumlin in Dublin with serious injuries.

A teenage boy was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, with what were described as non-life threatening injuries at the time.

A man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for any witnesses, in particular any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam or mobile phone footage) and were in the area of Tullamore Road, Frederick Street and Bridge Street in Clara at the time to contact them.
