36-year-old man dies in road collision in Co Tyrone

The PSNI has confirmed that a 36-year-old man died following a two-car collision on the main A5 road at Garvaghy.

The incident occurred at 10.25pm on Monday evening and involved a white Audi A6 and a silver Nissan Micra.

The driver of the Nissan Micra was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three occupants of the Audi were treated by emergency services and taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The collision resulted in the closure of a section of the road between Omagh and Ballygawley for forensic examination, but the road was reopened to traffic this morning.

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to the incident and for dashcam footage to be made available to them.
