A man has been killed in a collision between a car and lorry near Shercock in Co Cavan at around 7.30am this morning.
The driver of the lorry, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital.
The incident occurred on the main Shercock to Cootehill road, the R192, at Corcloughan.
The car driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The R192 is currently closed pending a technical examination by gardaí, and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or any motorists with dash-cam footage to contact them.
