Two people have died in separate road traffic incidents in counties Laois and Monaghan.
A man in his 30s was kiilled in a single vehicle crash at Inishammon, Smithboro, in Co Monaghan.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on the R187 between Monaghan and Rosslea in Co Fermanagh, at around 7.30pm yesterday evening.
The man's body was removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, or any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area to contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
Separately, a man in his 70s died after he was struck by a car on Main Street in Abbeyleix, Co Laois, at around 7pm yesterday.
He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, where he was later pronounced dead.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, particularly any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area between 6.30pm and 7.30pm yesterday, to contact Abbeyleix Garda Station on 057 8730580, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
Their deaths bring to 11 the number of people killed on Irish roads this year.
