A Status Yellow fog warning is now in place for 16 counties across the country tonight.
Dense or freezing fog is forecast for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Galway, Leitrim and Roscommon.
The warning came into effect at 9pm tonight and will last until 10am tomorrow morning.
Met Éireann has warned that the fog will lead to impaired visibility and hazardous travelling conditions.
