A man accused of the murder of Co Donegal businessman Stephen McCahill has been remanded in custody after appearing before Letterkenny District Court via videolink from Castlerea Prison.
Michael Maloney, 32, from Loughros Point, Ardara, spoke only to confirm he understood the direction of the court.
Garda Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court that consent had been given for a four-week remand in the case while directions were awaited from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Judge Emile Daly adjourned the case until 9 February.
Mr McCahill, a 66-year-old father-of-two, was killed at his home at Breagh, Ardara in the early hours of Monday, 5 January.
