Paraglider rescued from hotel roof in Co Fermanagh

Fire crews have rescued a paraglider who crashed into the roof of a Co Fermanagh hotel.

It happened at the Lough Erne Golf Resort near Enniskillen at around lunchtime today.

The fire and rescue service said it was called to an incident involving a paraglider at the hotel complex at 12.51pm.

Two fire engines from Enniskillen, one from Lisnaskea, a specialist rescue team and a turntable ladder were all used to rescue a man from the second floor roof.

He has been passed to the care of the Northern Ireland ambulance service.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it received a 999 call following reports of an incident in the area of Lough Shore Road, Enniskillen.

"NI Ambulance Service said it dispatched a Rapid Response Paramedic, 1 HART Crew and 1 Emergency Crew to the incident.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) in Enniskillen," it said in a statement.
