A woman in her 60s has died in a two-vehicle collision in Co Cork.
The collision occurred on the N25 near the Two Mile Inn between Midleton and Youghal at around 6.15pm.
The woman's body has been removed from the scene.
A man in his 60s has been taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be serious.
The woman and man were travelling in the same vehicle and no other injuries have been reported.
The road where the crash occurred is expected to remain closed overnight with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularlyy any road users travelling in the area between 6pm and 6.30pm, and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact Midleton Garda Station on 021 462 1550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
