A woman in her 80s has died after she was struck by a car in Co Carlow.
The incident occurred in Myshall village shortly before 5.30pm.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
No other injuries were reported.
The road was closed for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), from the area between 5pm and 5.30pm to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
