A man in his 80s has died following a single-vehicle road crash in Co Kildare.
The incident happened on the Curragh Road in Kildare town at around 1.35pm.
The man, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was brought to Naas General Hospital and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
The road was closed for a technical examination but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who was travelling on the road between 1pm and 2pm, and who may have camera footage, to contact them.
