Revenue officers have seized over €2.3 million worth of drugs at Dublin Airport in the last week.

Revenue drug detector dog Maggie discovered 112.95kg of herbal cannabis wrapped in vacuum-packed packages that were hidden in metal boxes labelled as 'Electric Box' on Sunday.

The cannabis, worth around €2,259,000, was sent from Thailand and was en route to an address in Northern Ireland.

The discovery came after Revenue separately discovered 800g of crystal methamphetamine worth around €48,000 on Thursday.

The drugs were concealed in boxes of soup sent from Spain and destined for an address in Co Dublin.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing.
