A motorcyclist in his 50s has died following a road collision in Co Limerick.
The collision, involving a motorcycle and a car, occurred at 4pm on the R519 at Ballykevin, near Kilmeedy.
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.
The driver of the car, a woman, was assessed by emergency services at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.
The road at the scene is currently closed to traffic and is being preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the local Coroner has been notified.
Diversions are in place on the R519 between the R520 at Ballykevin and Kilmeedy Village.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision to contact them.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from that section of road during the relevant period are also asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.

It comes on the same weekend that five young people died and three others were injured in a road crash in Dundalk, Co Louth.
It brings to 158 the number of people that have died on Irish roads this year.
