A man in his 40s has died after being struck by a car in Co Carlow.
The incident occurred on the R703 in Ballyroughan Big, Borris at 4.30pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 60s, was uninjured.
The road was closed overnight to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
