A cyclist in her mid-20s has died following a collision in Cork city yesterday evening.
The collision, involving a truck, occurred at the junction of Albert Street and Albert Road at around 6.15pm.
The woman, who was from Japan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
No other injuries were reported.
The road is closed pending a forensic technical examination by gardaí, and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 6.00pm and 6.30pm on Thursday 18 September are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
